I went outside tonight to watch the stars- well, as many as you can see while the city sleeps. I spotted parts of the Big Dipper between the clouds- it wasn't quite dark yet. I lay upon my back atop the picnic table that sits outside, just beyond our back porch, and there I watched as several planes crossed through the barriers of twilight. First there were two, the second not far behind the first. They drifted in separate directions, forming an 'x' in the sky. Then followed a third, low to the ground, bound for a nearby airport.
